Hybrid Reality Gaming is a software category pioneered by iFocus Labs. It describes games in which the player's real-world outcomes — revenue, wealth, skills, network, experiences — advance as they play. Unlike traditional video games, which produce no real-life payoff, and unlike gamified productivity apps, which add surface-level game skins to ordinary work, hybrid reality games are designed so that progress in the game is literally progress in real life.
